BuildWire Calc for Mac is the same calculator app as on iPhone, iPad and Android, as a native Mac app you download from this page. It works offline, has no ads and needs no account.

What's new in 1.1.1
- First direct download for Mac: a native app for Apple silicon and Intel Macs, signed with our Developer ID and notarized by Apple.
- 9 free calculators that work offline: voltage drop, Ohm's law, watts to amps, concrete slab, roof pitch, board feet, BTU, CFM and BTU to kW.
- 14 languages, metric and imperial units, light and dark mode, favourites, saved jobs and history.
- Pro for the Mac download (all calculators and job reports as PDF and CSV) is coming soon. Nothing is charged in this version.
- Updates arrive automatically inside the app (BuildWire Calc > Check for Updates…).
Install
- Download the
.dmgfile above and open it. - Drag BuildWire Calc onto the Applications folder.
- Open it from Applications or Launchpad. The app is signed with our Apple Developer ID and notarized by Apple, so macOS opens it without warnings.
To check the file before you open it, run shasum -a 256 on it in Terminal and compare the result with the SHA-256 above.
What is included

- 14 languages, imperial or metric units, light and dark mode, favourites, saved jobs and history.
- Pro for the Mac download, with all calculators and PDF and CSV job reports, is coming soon. This version charges nothing.
On iPhone, iPad and Android the app is in the App Store and Google Play, where Pro is available today (pricing).
Updates
The app checks once a day for a new version at buildwirecalc.com and offers to install it; you can also choose BuildWire Calc > Check for Updates…. Every update is signed, and the app refuses one whose signature does not match. The check sends nothing you enter; see the privacy policy.
Uninstall
Quit the app and move BuildWire Calc from Applications to the Trash. Your saved jobs and settings are kept in ~/Library/WebKit/com.skyseedtech.buildwirecalc.direct; delete that folder too if you want them gone, or use Settings > Erase all saved data in the app first.
